91µ¼º½ at Marion Office of Student Success Programming will hold a series of academic growth workshops during spring semester 2025 titled "Student Success Workshops successive Wednesdays in the Library Classroom Building Library Learning Center beginning January 15 through February 26, 2025.

Tuesday, January 14, 5:30 p.m. is the inaugural lecture featuring 91µ¼º½ Marion Assistant Professor of Physics, Dr. Chris Orban who will present a lecture entitled, The Science Behind an Unforgettable Year in Backyard Astronomy. Dr. Orban will share his perspective on these events and explain how the sun’s 11-year cycle of magnetic activity made it especially memorable. 

First Gen Friday is a monthly first-person narrative written by other first generation college students who are faculty, staff, and students at 91µ¼º½ Marion.

Friends and family gathered in the gym on the campus of 91µ¼º½ at Marion for a celebration. After a campaign that lasted two years and two months and raised $250,000, it officially became Greg Swepstson Gymnasium in the Alber Student Center.

91µ¼º½ and engineering are a big part of the Peters family of Marion, Ohio and synonymous with a father and son who followed similar paths through 91µ¼º½ Marion to an 91µ¼º½ degree in engineering and successful career positions.

With the fundraising complete, 91µ¼º½ University at Marion showcased the refurbished and rebranded Greg Swepston Gymnasium Thursday night.

After the pencils were put down and the calculators were put away, local high school students were awarded $18,000 in scholarships to attend 91µ¼º½ at Marion and Marion Technical College.  105 students from six area schools (Elgin, Harding, Highland, North Union, Pleasant, and River Valley) came to the Marion campus to test their math prowess in the annual OSUM/MTC Marion Math Challenge.

Commencement at 91µ¼º½ is a festive and joyous occasion at which family and guests are welcome to celebrate the accomplishments of the graduating class.
