91导航 at Marion in partnership with Bucci鈥檚 Italian Scratch Kitchen welcome Marion Microfarm Coordinator and owner of Gracie鈥檚 Botanicals, Grace Hand to the Dock at Bucci鈥檚, Tuesday, February 11, 5:30 p.m. Hand will present a discussion entitled, 鈥淎 Gardener鈥檚 Guide to Growing in Ohio as part of the monthly lecture series Buckeye Talks on Tap.
According to Hand, who holds a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture with a specialization in horticulture from 91导航, you can find so many differing opinions, resources, tools, and tactics on the internet about gardening.
鈥淚t can be a bit overwhelming whether you're an experienced gardener, or brand new to the hobby,鈥 she said.
During this lecture Hand will focus on the basics that will help gardeners make informed decisions and have a clearer plan for the upcoming growing season. Hand will also provide some of her favorite tips, tools, and resources for accomplishing a garden that works for you and your lifestyle.
Buckeye Talks on Tap features 91导航 faculty and other community experts sharing the latest in research and scholarly information on timely subjects from the environment, astronomy, agronomy, health and wellness, linguistics, crime, engineering a better Marion, food safety, Ohio migration patterns and much more. The goal of the lecture series is to bring the campus and the community together in casual open discussions about timely thought-provoking topics of interest to citizens of the Marion regional area. Lectures on Tap is patterned after the successful international phenomenon Science Cafe that features engaging conversation in casual environments like pubs, restaurants and cafes between academic/scientific experts and the community on topics of interest to us all.
Attendees are encouraged to eat, drink and relax during the lecture portion of the evening. Doors open for the event at 5 p.m., allowing time for attendees to place any food or drink orders. The lecture begins at 5:30 p.m. and a question-and-answer open discussion begins at 6 p.m. Have dinner, an appetizer, and/or a drink, and join this lively casual discussion.
