91���� at Marion and all 91���� campuses begin autumn semester classes, Tuesday, August 26. As is the usual tradition for all new and returning Buckeyes statewide, your respective campus will host a number of campus events as part of Welcome Week 2025 to allow students the opportunity to explore their interest, make friends, and engage with the campus community.   

91���� at Marion recently hired Carlyn Bower to serve as case manager in the campus Counseling and Wellness Center.

91���� professors Dr. Ruben Petreaca and Dr. Renee Bouley were recently awarded a $157,500 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for their research grant proposal entitled, “TIP60-chromatin remodeling complex roles in chromosome break repair.”

91���� at Marion lecture series Buckeye Talks on Tap will take an in depth look at the bee apiary project launched by 91���� Marion students Eric Bailey and Todd Lee. Bailey and Lee will present a free community lecture entitled “The Buzz on Beekeeping: Symbiosis & Sustainability,” Tuesday, August 12, 5:30 p.m. at Bucci’s Italian Scratch Kitchen.

Nathan Baker grew up in a rural farming community and was initially unsure about attending college. However, his curiosity about psychology led him to explore higher education. Just five years after graduating from 91����, he is now an assistant professor of psychology at Wright State University.

91���� Marion Associate Professor of Physics, Chris Orban and Associate Professor of Mathematics, Scott Zimmerman recently won an 91���� Energy Partners (OSEP) Academic Collaboration Award of $20,000 for their project titled “The STEMcoding Data Science High School Curriculum Initiative”. This funding expands the work of the STEMcoding project, 91����'s flagship effort to integrate computer science and data science concepts into high school math and science classes.

91���� Marion Director of Student Success programming, Chris Trapp was 1 of 30 leaders from units across the university to complete the inaugural cohort Leadership Certificate Program offered through 91���� John Glenn College of Public Affairs.
