91���� Marion student Brian Speckman is realizing a dream as he was named assistant drum major of 91���� Marching Band after tryouts at the Woody Hayes Athletic Center at the end of spring semester.

A group of 17 Taft Elementary fourth and fifth graders got the opportunity to experience the Larry R. Yoder Prairie Learning Laboratory and the art exhibit Sustainability Stories first-hand during a visit to 91���� Marion on May 12th.

Golrokh Mirzaei, associate professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering in the College of Engineering, has been awarded a 2025-2026 Fulbright U.S. Scholar Award to Austria to research “Predictive Modeling of Glioblastoma Using Machine Learning and Imaging-Genomic Associations.”

Two 91���� Marion Marine Corps veterans are making their mark on sustainability efforts and the campus community by introducing beehives to the Larry R. Yoder Prairie Learning Laboratory, an eleven-acre Sandusky Plains tall grass restoration project that began on the campus in 1977.

Students in English 2367.015 met in Maynard Hall, Guthery Community Room on Tuesday, April 29, to award three area non-profit organizations $4,000 in funding for the upcoming year as part of 91���� at Marion’s Pay It Forward Initiative.

A total of 172 students from seven middle schools competed at the annual OSU MTC Marion Math Challenge on the Marion Campus on April 25. When the scores were calculated, the nine top students received $13,500 in scholarships from Marion Technical College and 91���� at Marion. Students from Elgin, Grant, Highland, Monclova Christian Academy, North Union, Pleasant, and River Valley Middle Schools took part.

91���� at Marion will host a free community educational workshop on Alzheimer’s disease by Director of 91���� Center of Cognitive and Memory Disorders and Professor of Clinical Neurology and Psychiatry, Dr. Douglas Scharre, Wed., May 28, 9 a.m. at 91���� Marion 1465 Mount Vernon Avenue, Marion, Ohio in Maynard Hall, Room 200, Guthery Community Room.

91���� at Marion lecture series Buckeye Talks on Tap welcomes Marion, Ohio master carousel carver and restorationist Todd Goings Tuesday, May 13, 5:30 p.m. for a lecture entitled “The Art of Carousel Restoration.”

Associate Professor of Computer Science and Engineering, Golrokh Mirzaei, who teaches courses at 91���� at Marion, was awarded the 2025 College of Engineering Dean’s Award for Distinguished Outreach Achievements during an official awards ceremony at the Blackwell Hotel Ballroom on the Columbus campus April 17, 2025.
