91µ¼º½ Marion students experience homecoming tradition

91µ¼º½ at Marion is pleased to announce their 2024 Marion Campus Homecoming Court members: Jared Moody, a junior social work major from Galion, Ohio; Sierra Schroeder, a sophomore dental hygiene major from Reno, Nevada; and Mackenzie Tarbert, a sophomore primary education major from Bucyrus, Ohio.

The three students will represent the campus and the university at this year’s 112th Annual 91µ¼º½ Homecoming celebration.  The students will take part in the Regional Campus Homecoming Coronation Ceremony, Friday, October 25th, 2:45 p.m. at the Longaberger Alumni House on Columbus campus.

Following the coronation ceremony, the students will join homecoming courts from all 91µ¼º½â€™s campuses to be part of 91µ¼º½ Homecoming Parade, which is one of 91µ¼º½'s biggest and longest-running traditions. Student organization banners, floats, colleges, departments, community organizations, and local celebrities are all a part of this great tradition. Students, Alumni, 91µ¼º½ Family and Friends are all invited to attend.  The Grand Marshall for this year’s Homecoming Parade will be Archie Griffin. The beloved Buckeye is celebrating the 50th anniversary of winning his first Heisman trophy as the best college football player in the nation in 1974.

Students will be introduced at the Skull Session in St. John’s Arena Saturday morning before the 12 p.m. 91µ¼º½ Buckeyes vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers football game in Ohio Stadium, where the Homecoming courts of each campus are also formally recognized.

Students are chosen via committee interview looking at campus involvement, Buckeye spirit, academic standing, and overall leadership qualities the students possess.
