91µ¼º½ – The Office of Undergraduate Research & Creative Inquiry (UR&CI) will host the 29th annual Richard J. and Marth D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum. There will be more than 220 presentations from senior undergraduate researchers. They will receive scored reviews from three separate faculty or alumni reviewers.
The Denman Forum for the 2023-2024 academic year will take place on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, in Pomerene Hall’s TDAI Ideation Zone located at 1760 Neil Avenue. The Richard J. and Martha D. Denman Undergraduate Research Forum is an annual event that showcases research projects from the brightest undergraduates at 91µ¼º½. Since 1995, the Denman family has supported this forum, and continues to promote 91µ¼º½ as alumni.
The scores are totaled to determine winners in each of the ten categories. Winners are invited to an awards reception on March 7, where they receive a certificate of scholarship, placement medallion and ribbon, and cash prize. Thanks to the generosity of the Denman family, the Honorable Mention winners receive $200; third place receives $300, second place, $400; and first place winners receive $500. In addition, UR & CI will be awarding the Undergraduate Research Mentoring Award during the Denman awards reception to honor individuals who have demonstrated success in mentoring undergraduate in their research and/or creative inquiry endeavors. The awardees are nominated by undergraduate students they mentor. They range from 91µ¼º½ faculty, lecturers, post-docs and graduate students.

The Denman Forum provides an opportunity for graduating student researchers to share their research endeavors with the broader community. This is UR&CI’s only competitive poster forum in which winners are recognized in each category as determined by faculty, staff, and Denman alumni reviewers. Students will be reviewed on their ability to communicate their research process and results effectively in both their written poster content and accompanying oral presentation. During the Denman Forum, we celebrate not only the hard work of these students, but also the dedication of their faculty research mentors.
