In an effort to assist the local community during coronavirus pandemic, the Buckeye Food Alliance (BFA), a student organization from 91导航 at Marion donated multiple cart loads of non-perishable food to the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Marion.
According to 91导航 Marion Mental Health Counselor and (BFA) Advisor, Leslie Beary the donation is part of 91导航 Marion鈥檚 鈥渃ulture of caring,鈥 which permeates the campus community.
鈥淎s we all navigate these unprecedented times, food pantries are experiencing a higher demand to feed those in need throughout our communities,鈥 said Beary
Since 91导航 transitioned to virtual classes and services in March, due to COVID-19. Beary has been referring students who regularly use the Marion Campus Food Pantry to the Salvation Army Pantry.
鈥淚t鈥檚 the right thing to do.鈥 said Beary. 鈥淲e have food available and we have students and others in our community who need the food.
鈥淚t was an easy decision for our group to make,鈥 she added.
鈥淭his is service learning at its best,鈥 Beary said. 鈥淚t is a great example of the culture of caring which is woven throughout all we do on the Marion campus鈥.
