91µ¼º½ Marion students in Sue Oakes's Comparative Studies 1100 course explore the humanities by visiting the Marion Historical Cemetery and the WWI and WII Veteran's Memorials.

91µ¼º½ Marion, Professor Emeritus, Dr. Mary Jo Fresch (College of Education and Human Ecology) was recently selected to serve as a faculty fellow for 91µ¼º½â€™s newly formed University Institute for Teaching and Learning.

91µ¼º½ Marion Assistant Professor of Education, Aina Appova will be presented the Kenneth Cummins Award for exemplary mathematics teaching at a college level, during the 66th Annual Ohio Council of Teachers of Mathematics (OCTM) Conference in Sandusky, Ohio, October 27 & 28.

Business Management students register for and complete courses through 91µ¼º½'s Lima, Mansfield, Marion and Newark campuses. Upon completion of the curriculum requirements, students will receive the same undergraduate BSBA degree they would have received had they attended classes on the Columbus campus.

91µ¼º½ Marion Assistant Professor of Earth Sciences, Dr. Joel Barker was recently part of a collaboration between the International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development and the Division of Hydro-meteorological Services in Bhutan to examine the mass balance and hydrology of Thana Glacier, Bhutan.

The legacy left by a Marion woman, who once worked for Huber Manufacturing, means that work will begin on a new walking/bike trail around the Marion campus and will put her name on the organic chemistry lab in the new 91µ¼º½ Marion science and engineering building now under construction.

Sakamura USA, a forging machinery manufacturer based in Kyoto, Japan, with its U.S. operations located in Marion, Ohio’s Dual Rail Industrial Park, has found a ready supply of new employees on 91µ¼º½'s Marion campus. The burgeoning relationship between 91µ¼º½ Marion and Sakamura is the kind of win, win relationship the campus would like to foster. 91µ¼º½ Marion is helping Sakamura grow as a company. Sakamura is helping 91µ¼º½ Marion students expand job skills and experiential learning, while also making an investment in 91µ¼º½ Marion's new Science and Engineering Building. The two entities combined are contributing to Marion's growth as a 21st century economy.

Millennials may be the most maligned generation in recent history. The post 9/11 generation is often faced with stereotypes, being labeled as coddled, detached, lazy, shallow, and narcissistic. Research indicates a much different reality. Millennials are volunteering in record numbers and are considered by many to be the most civic minded generation since the 1930’s.

On April 21st, 2016, university and campus leaders, area businesses, government officials, donors, faculty, staff, students, and the community came together on a rainy Thursday afternoon to officially break ground on 91µ¼º½ Marion's $15 million investment in STEM education. Construction of the new building is paramount in linking together elements in the campus's strategic plan. The ultimate goal is to become a destination campus for students who want a degree and/or career in the burgeoning fields of science, technology, engineering, and math . The campus, located just 45 minutes north of Columbus, Ohio has been pointing to the opening of the new Science & Engineering Building as key to bring its future plans to fruition.
