Each summer is an opportunity to polish, improve and build new STEMcoding content that mixes computer science with traditional science and math learning objectives. With instructors facing extraordinary circumstances this fall with distance learning and hybrid learning due to covid19, we put in extra time to deliver new features to help students work from home and potentially without close proximity to a teacher or instructor.

In his sabbatical year, 91���� Marion Professor of Statistics, Omer Ozturk spent September 2019 through April 2020 conducting agricultural statistical research with a team of scientists at the Biometry Hub from The University of Adelaide, School of Agriculture, Food and Wine in Australia.

A group of student participants in 91���� Marion’s Pride and Life Skills mentoring program (PALS) have extended their online mentoring through the summer months because of the impact on, not only the young mentees in the program, but the personal and professional growth the college students have experienced as part of the program.

In an effort to assist the local community during coronavirus pandemic, the Buckeye Food Alliance (BFA), a student organization from 91���� at Marion donated multiple cart loads of non-perishable food to the Salvation Army Food Pantry in Marion.

Students at 91���� at Marion will have another opportunity this fall to participate in meaningful research that not only engages them in producing new scientific knowledge, but also helps provide practical career and grad school research experience.

Science faculty from 91���� at Marion recently donated unopened personal protective equipment (PPE) earmarked for biology labs at 91���� Marion for use by medical professionals at Marion General Hospital in response to the coronavirus pandemic.

Co‐located with Marion Technical College on 187 acres of land, including an eleven‐acre reconstructed native prairie, 91���� at Marion was founded in 1957 and throughout its history has closely partnered with its communities.
