Leadership Marion is proud to host a Marion Microfarm Summit Thursday, October 7, 4-8 p.m. at the Marion Palace Theater, May Pavilion in downtown Marion. The purpose of the summit is to inform and engage the community on expanding microfarming opportunities in the Marion area.

Kali Creasap grew up in Marion, Ohio, attending and graduating from Marion City Schools. She made the choice of remaining in her hometown to pursue her education and now has a career in teaching that she is extremely passionate about. And much of the growth and discovery she needed to take that big step into her life and career are linked to her undergraduate educational experiences at 91µ¼º½ Marion.

Well over 100 community leaders, 91µ¼º½ Marion and Marion Technical College students, faculty, staff, alumni, and administration came together to officially celebrate the grand reopening of the Alber Student Center on the Marion campus during a Marion Area Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting and Open House event held Wednesday, August 25th.

91µ¼º½ at Marion was well represented at Pelotonia the weekend of August 6-8 as eight people from the campus came together to raise over $10,000 for cancer research during this year’s ride to raise research funds for 91µ¼º½â€™s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute.

A group of 91µ¼º½ Marion faculty researchers were recently awarded a $156,000 federal grant from the National Institutes of Health’s National Cancer Institute for research in the role of chromatin remodeling factors in DNA double strand break repair.
