Friends and family gathered in the gym on the campus of 91µ¼º½ at Marion for a celebration. After a campaign that lasted two years and two months and raised $250,000, it officially became Greg Swepstson Gymnasium in the Alber Student Center.

After the pencils were put down and the calculators were put away, local high school students were awarded $18,000 in scholarships to attend 91µ¼º½ at Marion and Marion Technical College. 105 students from six area schools (Elgin, Harding, Highland, North Union, Pleasant, and River Valley) came to the Marion campus to test their math prowess in the annual OSUM/MTC Marion Math Challenge.Â

Engineering Technology
91µ¼º½â€™s engineering technology program, available on the Mansfield, Marion, Newark and Lima campuses, is preparing students to excel as business-oriented engineering leaders in the rapidly expanding manufacturing industry. That industry is thirsty for employees (with estimates that nearly 4 million employees will be needed in the next 10 years) and engineering technologists in particular (it’s projected there will be a 13% growth in jobs in engineering technology by 2026).

As we approach the season of giving, 91µ¼º½ Marion sophomore electrical engineering major Ethan Kessler is thankful he chose to attend an 91µ¼º½ regional campus for a multitude of reasons. Primary among those is the ability to adjust to college by attending a smaller regional campus and the ability to focus on his education without the worry of debt thanks to being awarded the Wm. Kay Davis Excellence Scholarship.
